How to use the DC1000 Dash Cam

Please Note: A memory card is not included. Please use a high speed Micro-SD card (above Class 10). The device can support a memory card of a minimum of 8 GB to a maximum of 128 GB. It is recommended that you format your memory card every 2 to 3 weeks.
II. Button Functions
8. MODE |
Short press this button to cycle through the different functions (recording, photograph, playback). Please note that the dashcam cannot be actively recording to change function. Short press the OK button to stop recording if needed. In recording and photograph mode, long press this button to go the settings menu. In system menus, long press this button to go back to the previous menu. |
7. UP |
Short press to scroll through menus. If an external rear camera is installed: In video mode, short press to switch among multiple display modes - front camera, picture in picture and rear camera; In photography mode, short press to switch between the front camera and rear camera. In recording and photography mode, long press to toggle WIFI. |
6. POWER |
Long press to turn the device on and off. While the device is on, short press to turn toggle the device’s display. |

IV. Installation Guide
- Please make sure that the vehicle is powered off.
- Insert the memory card (not included into the slot (3) of the dashcam.
Note: Please use a high speed Micro-SD card (above Class 10). The device can support a memory card of a minimum of 8 GB to a maximum of 128 GB. It is recommended that you format your memory card every 2 to 3 weeks.
- Attach the dashcam to the preferred location on the windshield of the car.
- Insert the dashcam’s charger into vehicle’s cigarette lighter.
- Connect the USB cable of the dashcam and the car charger with the charging extension cable.
Note: The charging extension cable can be laid along the edge of the windshield behind the vehicle’s trim.
- Install the auxiliary camera in the preferred location of the vehicle. Connect the auxiliary camera’s A/V cable to the dashcam’s A/V input interface after installation.
Note: Please pay attention to the direction of the auxiliary camera when installing. Wiring can be laid along the vehicle ceiling to avoid obstruction.
- Adjust the lens position to ensure that the lens remains level with the ground.
- Start the vehicle and check if the dashcam is working correctly. The device will ask to initialize the install memory card if required.
Note: Once the device is connected to power, it should automatically turn on. The display and the indicator light near the lens of the dash cam will turn on, and the device will automatically start recording video if a memory card is installed. If the display is upside down or there are any other issues, please contact support as soon as possible.
V. Functions
1. Recording Video
When the vehicle is turned on and power is sent to the dashcam, the dashcam will automatically turn on and start recording. When power is stopped, the dashcam will save the current video and turn off.
Recording can be manually started and stopped by pressing the OK button or by tapping the record icon in the middle of the screen. The dashcam can be manually turned off by long pressing the Power button.
Video is recorded and stored in segments. The length of the segments can be set in the menu in 1, 3 or 5 minute lengths.
Note: The recorder will overwrite earlier recorded video when memory card is full.
2. Video playback
Stored video and photographs can be viewed directly from the device. The playback function can be reach either by swiping right on the screen while the device is not recording, or long pressing the mode button until the device cycles to the playback mode.
The default folder name for the front camera is “front_norm”; The default folder name for the auxiliary camera is “back_norm” The emerg is “front_emr”; the locking folder of back route is “back_emr”
The default folder name for photos taken from the main camera is “front_photo”; The default folder name for photos taken from the auxiliary camera is “back_photo”
3. Settings Menu
The settings menu provides options to adjust various settings on the device.
4. G-Sensor
This dashcam has a G-Sensor inside that can detect if the vehicle has been in an an collision. If a serious vehicle collision is detected the dashcam will store an accident recording of the incident. The sensitivity of the G-sensor can be changed in the setting menu.
Note: Recordings triggered by the G-sensor will not be overwritten if the memory card is full
5. Parking monitoring
When parking monitoring is enabled, the G-sensor will remain active even if the device is currently in the shutdown state. If the G-sensor detects a vibration while the device is shutdown, the recorder will automatically turn on the and record 20 seconds of video and then power off.
Note: This function only works if the dashcam has a source of power. This may require the device to be directly connected to your vehicle’s battery.
6. Formatting the memory card
The memory card can be formatted by selecting the option in the settings menu. It is recommended to format the memory card every 2 - 3 weeks.
VI. WiFi - Pairing with your Smartphone
This dashcam is equipped with WiFi so you can control and access stored videos and images using the RoadCam app.
- Enable WiFi on the device in the settings menu.
Note: WiFI is not enabled by default. WiFi can be enable by taping the WiFi icon on the screen, or by long pressing the UP button

Step 2 : Register and login to the RoadCam app
Step 3 : Connect to the Dashcam’s WiFi:
Open you mobile phone WiFi settings, and directly connect to the dashcam’s WiFi network.
WiFi name:himc—*******
Note: This is the default name that the dashcam generates.
Password :12345678
Step 4 : Open the RoadCam app on your smartphone.
